Our Innovative Teaching Practices

Play-based
Fred Rogers once said that “Play is the real work of childhood.” It’s true! Play is the most impactful way for children to commit content to mastery. It takes 400 repetitions of content to create a new pathway in the brain -but only 10-20 repetitions when it is done through play (Dr. Kathryn Purvis). At Maravilla, our lessons are infused with rhythm, the arts, projects, and imaginative play, bringing learning to life!

Bilingual
At Maravilla House, bilingualism is more than a skill—it’s a superpower. Using Dr. Nell Duke’s research-based Dual Language Great First Eight Curriculum, we build strong neural pathways while nurturing children’s cognitive, social, and academic growth from day one.
Studies show bilingual learners often outperform their monolingual peers in reading, math, and problem-solving—and they grow into confident, compassionate leaders ready for a global world. At Maravilla House, we don’t just teach two languages—we grow brilliant, bilingual minds!

Christian
Maravilla House is a vibrant, faith-filled space where children can laugh, grow, and experience the love of Jesus every day. Through stories, songs, and simple acts of kindness, we nurture a spirit of joy, gratitude, and compassion—helping little ones build strong friendships and a deep sense of belonging grounded in God’s love.
Reggio-Inspired
At Maravilla House, we follow the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which sees children as capable, curious, and full of potential. We nurture learning through open-ended play, meaningful relationships, and the evolving interests of each child.
Our classroom is filled with natural and everyday materials that inspire creativity, exploration, and expression. Whether indoors or outside, children are encouraged to ask questions, make connections, and learn through play.
